I was born in London, grew up as a teenager in Liverpool during the 1960's, when the city was at the centre of the Earth.
On impulse I returned to London in 1973 to work one season as a tour coach driver. I never did make it back to Liverpool and have been involved in the London tourist industry ever since.
During the 1980's, whilst working at the Tours and Charters Department of London Transport, then the world's biggest bus company, I gained an intensive knowledge of Greater London and a wealth of experience in organising large groups of people and supervising fleets of buses and coaches. It was during this period I earned my Blue Badge.
With the break up of London Transport, in 1990 I became a freelance Blue Badge Guide, building up an impressive portfolio of clients from the largest international tour operators to individual travellers. I am very proud of the fact that my United Kingdom clients elected me "Britain's Favourite Tour Guide" on BBC Radio 4's "Breakaway" programme.
